Abstract
The Lp gene frequency is estimated to be 0.083 in Japanese, but the evidence favoring a major locus is marginal as shown by electrophoresis. The sinking pre-.beta. band is significantly associated with elevated cholesterol and depressed triglyceride. The biological significance of these observations is discussed. Keywords
