Research on Xanthurenic Acid. VI. Effect on Xanthurenic Acid upon Glycogen Amount in Liver, Heart Muscle and Skeletal Muscle

Abstract

We were able to observe remarkable changes in the glycogen amount in the liver, heart muscle and skeletal muscle of the xanthurenic-acid-injected white rats. This is a conclusive evidence of a remarkable effect of xanthurenic acid on glucose metabolism, and at the same time, it is a reliable evidence of the occurrence of diabetic symptoms attributable to xanthurenic acid.
