Abstract
The assumption that bronchial asthma is associated with hyperinsulinism was tested by performing 6-hr. glucose-tolerance tests on a no. of asthmatics. There was a complete correspondence between the 2 conditions. The response to the treatment for hyperinsulinism justified the conclusion that hyperinsulinism is one of the conditions necessary for the appearance of asthmatic attacks, although not all persons with hyperinsulinism have asthma.
