Abstract
Measurements of total cross section for collision of slow electrons between 2 and 40 volts have been carried out in and by use of a Brode type apparatus. The results for compare well with those of previous investigators and with the theory of elastic scattering. The cross section of is of order 2000 sq. atomic units with a maximum at , the curve being similar to those for Na, K, Cs and Rb. Application of the theory of elastic scattering indicates that only a small portion of these collisions can be elastic.
