Abstract
The light output from thallium-activated cesium iodide crystals has been determined using , , and as incident particles, with energies up to 10 Mev per nucleon. A photocathode with response viewed the scintillator light and the photomultiplier pulses were compared with those produced by alpha particles and protons of known energies. There is evidence that low-energy heavy ions are in-efficient producers of light in this spectral region.
