Abstract

A novel synthesis of 2-deoxy-D-[1-¹⁴C]ribose is described. The periodate oxidation of 2-deoxy-D-[1-¹⁴C]ribonic acid has been studied using radiochemical techniques, and a quantitative estimation of each pathway involved has been made.
