Age-Related Changes in the Decidual Response of the C57BL/6J Mouse Uterus1

Abstract
An age-related reduction in several parameters of the decidual response (DCR), which was induced by injection of arachis oil into the lumen of both uterine horns, was found in 10 month-old ovariectomized, hormone-primed C57BL/6J mice, when compared to similarly treated 4 month-old animals. A vehicle-injected and a hormone-primed control group allowed the distinction between age-related changes in response to hormonal priming and such changes in response to the deciduogenic stimulus.
