Abstract
In the acoelous turbellarian Amphiscolops langerhansi, copulation occurs by the interlocking of the penes. The sperm pass over the anterior surface of the partner's penis into the seminal bursa of the latter. The body region immediately behind the penis is also protruded in copulation and acts as a sperm guide directing the sperm into the partner's bursa and preventing their dissemination into the water.
