Abstract
This article describes the development of Kosher Meals-on-Wheels as a specific outreach program of the Jewish Home and Hospital for Aged at Pittsburgh. The success of this program is attributed to the joint sponsorship and cooperation of three organizations—(a) The Home, the institutional base for the preparation of meals, (b) The Jewish Family and Children's Service, the professional casework agency responsible for the selection of eligible recipients, (c) B'nai B'rith Women, the nationwide service organization who provide the womanpower to deliver the meals. Criteria for acceptance into the program and social and psychological benefits are discussed.
