Abstract
A modified version of the authors'' original model (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. 42:33, 1956.) is synthesized with Moffitt''s model (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. 42:736, 1956.) and used to determine (for the sodium D line) the specific rotation due to the helical configuration alone for an infinitely long, right-handed, polypeptide [alpha]-helix.
