Nuclear Spin and Magnetic Hyperfine Interaction of 12-DayGe71

Abstract
The hyperfine structure of the P3 atomic ground state of radioactive Ge71 has been examined by means of the atomic-beam magnetic-resonance technique. The nuclear spin and magnetic dipole moment are measured to be ½ and +0.65±0.20 nm, respectively. The magnetic hyperfine interaction constants a(P13) and a(P23) are found to be ±(87.005±0.003) and ±(357±6) Mc/sec, respectively. The electronic g factor gJ is determined to be 1.50093±0.00008 for the P13 state and 1.4948±0.0007 for the P23 state.
