Abstract
The multiphoton ionization of helium has been determined for a number of laser wavelengths and intensities using the time-dependent Hartree-Fock model. Conclusions about the ionization dynamics for very-short-pulse, high-intensity lasers are discussed. The limits and characteristics of the time-dependent Hartree-Fock method for atomic physics processes are also evaluated. Keywords
