High‐Temperature Viscometer for Fluid Liquids Part II: Viscosities of the Alkali Chlorides

Abstract
In an effort to obtain better standard values for melt viscosities, the viscosities of the molten alkali chlorides have been re‐determined as a function of the temperature by the method of the oscillating sphere. The relationship between viscosity and temperature can be represented satisfactorily by an Arrhenius equation giving an activation energy for viscous flow. The viscosities obtained are discussed in the light of recent literature values.
