A simple vertical gill net system is described that is easily portable, quickly deployed, and occupies little on-boat space. Ethafoam rollers on a steel axle buoy the net. Removable outriggers support the rollers as the net is raised or lowered with a portable crank fitted to the roller axle. The boat can accommodate other uses while nets are set.
