Abstract
We incorporate a physical gluon propagator containing a dynamical gluon mass into the Schwinger-Dyson equation for the effective quark propagator in QCD, from which we find solutions to the dynamical quark mass . Numerical results showing the dependence of on the gluon mass indicate that the chiral-symmetry phase transition takes place for (where is the QCD renormalization-group mass).
