The Excretion and Fate of Androgens: Excretion of Injected Testosterone and its Various Derivatives.1

Abstract
After the subcut. inj. of oil solns. of testosterone and its various derivatives[long dash]acetate, propionate, benzoate and oxime[long dash]into 4 castrate dogs, there was recovered from the urine (as shown by capon comb development) about 0.3% of the original activity. Protection of the polar groupings did not prevent the inactivation of the molecule or delay or prolong the rate of excretion. The assayable material was found in the urine of the first 2 days after inj.
