The association of a series of factors related to the foster child, the foster child's birth family, and the foster child's caseworker in relation to multiple placement in foster care is examined. The data analyzed were drawn from a large national study concerning social services to children and their families. The results show that several factors are significantly related to multiple placements, and the author draws implications for social workers from the findings.
