Abstract
The methods described in the literature for accurately measuring photocell linearity are surveyed and assessed. The effect of not measuring photocell linearity under the conditions used in the final apparatus are considered. Some of the conditions necessary for accurate assessment of the nonlinearity under working conditions are specified. The use of the NRC "Photocell Linearity Tester" to measure and correct for the nonlinearity of various receivers is described. Keywords
