Abstract
Attention is called to the authors'' recent paper (Jour. Bact. 54: 291-303) in which the genus Arthrobader Fisher, emend. [type A. globiforme (Conn) Conn and Dimmick] is proposed for certain soil organisms having morphology similar to Coryne-baderium. It is pointed out in the present paper that a specific differentiation among these organisms can apparently be made on the basis of diastatic action on starch. The diastase-negative species is named Arthrobader simplum. Keywords
