Abstract
TO THE microbiologist, vitamin B12 is one of the newest of the growth factors necessary for certain bacteria. To the biochemist, it appears to afford new information concerning nucleic acid synthesis. To the poultry scientist it represents a further step in the elucidation of the nature of the factors necessary for the best hatchability of hens' eggs and the growth of chicks. To the physician, vitamin B12 appears to be the long-sought antipernicious-anemia principle of liver, and to afford new insight concerning the pathogenesis of a disorder that has fascinated medical men since its original description by Thomas Addison . . .Keywords
