Abstract
The effect of stress, ACTH, and desoxycorticosterone acetate on the blood-, liver-, and kidney glutathione of the rat was studied. (1) Cold, histamine and epinephrine, single and repeated injns. of ACTH and repeated injns. of DCA had no effect on the blood glutathione level. (2) Repeated injns. of ACTH and DCA had no effect on the glutathione content of the liver or kidney. (3) The results have been offered as evidence against the pituitary-adrenal system being involved in the mechanism for the decreased level of blood glutathione found in electrolyte-deficient rats. Keywords
