Biosynthesis of the homosesquiterpenoid juvenile hormone JH II [methyl (2E,6E,10Z)-10,11 -epoxy-3,7,11-trimethyltridecadienoate] from [5-3H]homomevalonate in Manduca sexta

Abstract
Radioactivity from [5-3H]homomevalonate is incorporated into the ethyl-branched or homosesquiter-penoid juvenile hormone JH II of Manduca sexta, but not into the co-occuring sesquiterpenoid juvenile hormone JH III; degradation experiments show that the incorporation of label apparently is specific and in accordance with that expected from a modified terpenoid pathway.
