Abstract
Soy bean trypsin inhibitor (SBTI) inhibits strongly the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin in the presence of 25% Na-citrate and in the absence of all known converting factors. The relationship between the concn. of SBTI and the velocity of thrombin formation in systems containing thromboplastin (with or without accelerator globulin) is compatible with the concept that the SBTI forms a dissociable complex with prothrombin or with a derivative intermediate between prothrombin and thrombin. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
