Abstract
The changes produced by protein-deficient diets and starvation on the composition of rat liver nuclei have been studied. It was found that the histone fraction and the histone to DNA ratio remained remarkably constant during the different experimental conditions studied. The rest of the protein fractions showed variations which can probably be ascribed to an increase in the autolytic activity of the preparations. It appears that the degree of autolysis varies with the type of dietary insult applied to the animal. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
