Abstract
The spectrometer described is a grazing incidence grating instrument with an improved drive system for moving the electronic detector around the Rowland circle. In this system the lead screw driving the detector always lies along a chord of the Rowland circle joining the grating and the detector. With this design there is less chance of error due to flexure of the components than in previous designs, and the resolution of the spectrometer is constant in wavelength. Keywords
