The Primary of Cen X-3

Abstract
Recently published reports of Krzeminski's optical counterpart for Cen X-3 are shown to be consistent with the hypothesis that the primary is in contact with its inner critical Roche lobe. An orbital inclination i ∼ 90° and a mass ratio q ∼ 0.045 is indicated. The primary may be somewhat overluminous for its mass. The possibility of detecting 4.8 s optical pulsations is discussed.
