Composition analysis of particles from noctilucent clouds

Abstract
Composition analysis has been performed on particles collected from noctilucent clouds by a rocket sounding experiment in northern Sweden during August 1962. Electron diffraction, neutron activation, and electron beam microprobe techniques were applied to give information about chemical composition and possible crystal structure of the particles. Results obtained to date are presented in this paper which also discusses the applicability of the above methods to small particle analysis. DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1964.tb00149.x
