Abstract
Histamine excretion rises steeply in the pregnant rat at about the 15th day of pregnancy, at which time also the histamine content of the fetus'' liver increases. No such changes are seen with 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid. The histamine liberators, compound 48/80 and polymyxin B, cause death of many fetuses. Reserpine is toxic to pregnant rat in doses of 1 mg/kg, but not with 0.1 mg/kg.Keywords
