Abstract
Thy-roxine (0.1 cc. of a 1/1000 sol., daily) retarded the tumor growth. When arginine was substituted for thyroxine, growth was renewed. If arginine had been given for several days and then thyroxine substituted for it, cessation of growth did not result. The tumors grew very rapidly when both arginine and thyroxine were administered to the same animals. Arginine and thyroxine are mutually antagonistic in respect to tumor growth.
