Linkage between a Flower Color Factor and Self-Sterility Factors

Abstract
In populations of Nicotiana sanderae, the factor for ivory flower color (i) is found to segregate independently of the allelomorphic sterility factors previously investigated. On the other hand, in the inheritance of white flower color, which is epistatic to ivory, linkage is found between this basic color factor (c) and the sterility allelomorphs (s). The average crossing-over value approximates 18%.
