Inverse Beta Decay and the Two-Component Neutrino

Abstract
Several procedures for calculating the average cross section per antineutrino from U235 fission are given to test the predictions of the two-component neutrino theory. A firm lower limit of σ¯p>7×1044 cm2 is deduced from the known decays of the fission products. Three different procedures, if weighted equally, give a "best value" of σ¯p=14×1044 cm2 to be compared with the recently increased experimental value σ¯p=11±4×1044 cm2. It is concluded that predictions of the two-component neutrino theory are in accord with the experimental results on inverse beta decay.
