Pteridine studies. Part XXXII. Nucleophilic addition reactions of 2-aminopteridine

Abstract
2-Aminopteridine has been reduced with sodium borohydride to the 3,4-dihydro-derivative. 2-Aminopteridine also readily added the following nucleophilic reagents to give 2-amino-3,4-dihydro-4-substituted pteridines: sodium hydrogen suphite, dimedone, 4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine, barbituric acid, 2-thiobarbituric acid, nitromethane, ethanol, and methanol.
