Effect of Progesterone Therapy on Embryo Survival in Cows of Lowered Fertility

Abstract
Sixteen repeat breeder cows out of 36 injected with 50 mg of progesterone per day beginning 3 days after heat had normal embryos at 34 days as compared with 12 in an equal number of uninjected control animals. Thirty-one additional animals were injected daily with 200 mg of progesterone. Of these animals 12 had normal embryos at 34 days as compared with 8 in 31 control animals.
