Abstract
Data are presented which indicate that there is obtainable from pituitary tissue a fraction which is thermostable within a wide range of pH. This fraction has been demonstrated to have the following physiological properties: (a) production of ketonemia in both normal and adrenalectomized rats; (b) production of increased glycosuria and ketonuria in the Houssay dog; (c) an antagonistic action on the hypoglycemic action of insulin, and on the hyper-glycemic action of adrenalin; (d) a glycostatic action which has been demonstrated in rats, guinea pigs and rabbits .This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
