Abstract
Adrenalectomy resulted in an earlier growth of the hair in the rat. Lack of the cortical portion was found responsible for this precocity. Administration of three 0.1 mg. doses of thyroxin subcut. to adrenalectomized rats induced hair growth sooner than did adrenalectomy. Earlier administration of much larger amts. of the hormone was necessary to produce a similar precocity in unoperated rats. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
