Abstract
The efficacy of an enzyme-immunometric assay (EIMA) was investigated against a standard cultural method (SCM) for Salmonella detection in 82 food samples. Cultures of the food samples were assayed by EIMA after preenrichment and again after selective enrichment. Testing of preenrichment cultures by EIMA was unreliable as only 7 Salmonella-positive samples were detected. However, full agreement between EIMA and SCM was obtained when the selective enrichment cultures were assayed by EIMA, resulting in the identification of 24 Salmonella-positive samples. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
