THE RELATION OF PANCREATIC JUICE TO PANCREATIC DIABETES

Abstract
Total pancreatic fistulae were prepared in 6 dogs and the effect of the total loss of pancreatic juice on the production of diabetes, as claimed by Boldyreff, observed. In no case was diabetes produced. The oral administration of from 300 to 1100 cc. of pancreatic juice per day to depancreatized dogs did not lessen the severity of the diabetes but actually increased the sugar excretion.
