Some Kinetic Aspects of the Combination of Antigen and Antibody in Vivo

Abstract
Passively sensitized guinea pigs challenged intravenously with sublethal amounts of antigen are protected against subsequent lethal challenge. Desensitization is not instantaneous but proceeds at a rate which is directly related to the quantity of antigen injected. In the production of anaphylaxis, excess antigen may be required to develop an adequate rate of diffusion of antigen into the shock organ.
