Larvae of two species of tenebrionid beetles from the Namib Desert are capable of absorbing water vapor from subsaturated air. Absorption does not take place during ecdysis but begins 2 days following ecdysis. Absorption is dependent on relative humidity and not vapor pressure deficit.
