Abstract
A case is reported of a patient taking dexedrine and thyroid tablets secretly to the point of causing a clinical syndrome initially diagnosed as thyrotoxic crisis. Lack of correlation of past history and compatible laboratory studies lead to suspicion of patient induced disease, which was confirmed by finding supplies of dexedrine and thyroid which the patient admitted taking in substantial amts. Removal of the drugs eliminated the syndrome. A 3-year follow-up report revealed no further occurrence of the syndrome. Keywords
