Abstract
Preview The incidence and characteristics of infective endocarditis have been affected by many factors—the increase in injection drug abuse, the aging population, improved culture techniques, and more aggressive therapies. The authors of this article examine the changing trends in endocarditis and discuss current diagnostic techniques and treatment regimens. Complications and culture-negative endocarditis are also addressed. Keywords
