Some Noteworthy Rusts: I

Abstract
ACERVULOPSORA is based on a large collection of a rust agreeing with descriptions of Uredo ichnocarpi Barclay, here combined as A. ichnocarpi. A detailed study and analysis of the telial stages of the rust indicates that the teliospores originate subepidermally, developing singly on pedicels, and that the basidium is semi-internal. In other respects the species cannot be assigned to any of the present described genera of rusts. 3 n. spp., Puccinia voluntarellae on Volutarella divaricata, P. bellurenis on Evolvulus alsinoides, and P. boerhaviaefoliae on Blepharis boerhaviaefolia, all from India, and 3 formerly described spp. are included in the paper.
