Abstract
The unscreened Abelian solutions to SU(N)N>or=2 gauge theory with a non-singular static charge source are shown to be unstable. The stable solutions are seen to be completely screened. These stable solutions exist in a limit which is difficult to interpret in a quantised theory. This extends the work of Sikivie and Weiss (1978).Keywords
