Chronic gastric ulcer in children is of interest because of its rarity. Each case recognized should be reported to add to the few cases on record, in order that the profession may profit from a collective study. A thorough search of the literature to date reveals but eighteen cases reported. There have been published only three articles that have dealt exclusively with chronic gastric ulcer as related to children. Two of these articles have been published by foreign clinics. The articles are case reports. An exclusive study of chronic gastric ulcer in children has not been made heretofore. In three instances isolated cases have been reported, or mentioned, concurrently with articles dealing with duodenal ulcer in children.
