Abstract
Various linear least squares methods for transfer function synthesis from frequency response data are presented in a unified format. Solutions are derived from Householder transformations and recursive least squares. An alternative formulation derived from a time domain error criterion is also shown to be of the linear least squares type. The comparative performance of the various methods is illustrated by several examples. Keywords
