Stability of the metallic state of selenium under pressure

Abstract
Selenium is not retained in the metallic state and is hence not a superconductor after the release of high pressure at room temperature. Resistance measurements imply that the semiconductor to metal transformation is readily reversible at a pressure of 130 kbar.Keywords
