Abstract
In the general introduction to these analyses we defined our purpose as being statistical investigation of the yield, in terms of the different stages of the plant’s development, by means of careful records of all these stages throughout the development season. In the spacing experiment we examined the effect of providing the cotton plant with various volumes of soil, and found that the method of field cultivation practised in this respect by the Egyptian native cultivator gives the highest yield obtainable from a given area, though the space allowed to each individual plant is very much less than it could profitably utilise if growing isolated.
