Microsporum audouini: The Effect of Yeast Extract, Thiamine, Pyridoxine, and Bacillus Weidmaniensis on the Colony Characteristics and Macroconidial Formation

Abstract

Growth factors essential to the development of M. audouini are present in yeast-extract and are produced by B. weidmaniensis. Both factors are probably identical. Indications are that the kind of peptone used in the medium to which yeast-extract is added is an important factor to maximal development of the fungus.
