Abstract
A number of male patients referred to as narcissistic characters suffer intense guilt. This derives from the fact that their oedipal experiences come closer to actualizing what Freund characterized as the 2 great criminal intentions of killing the father and having sexual realtions with the mother. Case material is presented to delineate these disturbances. Process material is examined to highlight problems of technique common to those patients.
