Abstract
Numerous reports on boron nutrition of plants have been published since WARINGTON (15), using Vicia faba, first discovered in 1923 that boron is essential for the growth of higher plants. Inorganic (7, 9, 11) and organic (1) constituents of the growth medium and climatic conditions such as light intensity (13), photoperiod (5, 16), and drying and wetting of the soil (10) are some of the factors affecting boron uptake by plants.
